The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale has arrived!! Should you be excited?! Yes, yes you should! This annual sale is the best way to stock up on the fall goodies you have been eyeing in the stores. Yes, I know, it is way too hot to think about sweaters, riding boots, and long pants, but your fall style will thank you for your summer online shopping! I have shared my favorite picks below and answered a couple of questions about the sale. However, it’s pretty simple- shop, save, and strut your stuff!
Why is everyone talking about this sale?
If you are reading through any of your favorite blogs or trolling through your insta feed I am certain you will see a lot of content promoting this sale. For anyone who likes sharing outfit inspirations and discounts, this is the McDaddy of all the sales. Not even Black Friday can compete! The Nordstrom sale opens July 13th for card holders and opens July 21st to the public. The sale ends August 6th. The sales are steep and the products on sale range from activewear to makeup. Honestly one of my favorite sections is the makeup kits that are significantly cheaper than buying each piece separately. I will dedicate a blog post just for makeup kits soon!
How can I shop the early access sale?
To shop early access starting July 13th until July 20th, you need to be a Nordstrom cardholder. They have credit cards and debit cards and they both are great to have all year long to earn points and rewards on every purchase. Personally, I am a fan of the Nordstrom debit card, because this store is risky business to spend more than my allotted budget. (again personal and specific to me!) If you are ready to shop these sales now and not wait until the 21st, you can apply for a card here.
What if I don’t have early access, when is the sale live to the public?
If you are not a cardholder, the sale will open July 21st. But I will tell you, the sales update daily and items sell out fast. Many of the items you see on your newsfeed now, might not be available later.
My Sale Picks
Activewear//Leggings Galore
One of my favorite sales to check out first are the leggings and active wear tops. I have been living in my yoga gear and I would love to update a few of my leggings. Question- how long is too long to keep your workout clothes? I think I have a few running shorts and tops from high school- 10+ years- might be time for an update 😉
Clearly, the Zella brand won the race to my shopping cart (pun intended). I love the colors, prints and of course the discounts.
Tops//Comfy Style Everyday
This fall, I am looking forward to oversize everything! I really love the bell-shaped sleeves and neutral colors. I like to take advantage of the Nordstrom sale to stock up on essential pieces that will last the whole season vs. trendy items that last for one outfit. I think my favorite in this bunch is the Topshop tunic (last image).
Dresses//Summer to Fall Style
The best part about dresses is most can be used right away in the summer heat and can be a great transition piece with a jean jacket as the weather cools down this fall. Again I am going for neutrals for all of the dress styles. I really like the WAYF lace dress for an upcoming fall wedding. I think it will be perfect for the warmer temps but perfect for the fall colors in Baltimore.
Shoes//Feet Fashion
The sale on shoes might be my most favorite part, simply because it is a great time to buy shoes I would normally pass on because of the price. When Tory Burch sells for under $170- I consider that a major sale. I also really like the peep toe for fall and once again neutrals. My wardrobe is slowly transitioning to more staple pieces vs. trendy and colorful (which I don’t mind one bit!)
Also, can we talk about these Sam Edelman’s flats with the crystal eye?! I am swooning over these. I haven’t bit the bullet and purchased, but I love how funky they are, so I’ll keep them in my cart until I can justify the purchase. Any good arguments?!
